iP HEAD bvba has been founded in 2008.

The main goal of iP HEAD is to deliver high quality work at competitive prices. iP HEAD considers quality patents to be a product of the efforts of well-qualified and responsible people, who enjoy learning about new technologies.

iP HEAD has extensive patent practice experience in various fields of electronics and mechanical engineering, as well as in physics. Some areas of practice include: printers, image display and projection, medical imaging, biosensors, microfluidic devices, semiconductor design and processing, digital equipment, signal processing, computer architectures, systems-on-chip and software.

Kris is Belgian, born in 1969 in Gent. She is a Dutch native speaker and is fluent in English and French.

Kris holds a degree in applied sciences from the University of Gent, Belgium (civil engineer in electronics).

She trained in intellectual property in private practice. She headed a corporate patent department for five years, and was thereafter responsible for running a branch office of a Belgian intellectual property firm.

She qualified as a European patent attorney in 1998, and as a Belgian patent attorney in 2000.

Over the years she worked with sole inventors, SME’s as well as multinationals.

In 2008 she founded iP HEAD bvba.

Kris has extensive experience in filing and prosecution of European, Belgian, international (PCT), US, JP and other national patent applications, including representation before the European patent office (EPO) and the Belgian Patent Office; in handling oppositions and appeal proceedings before the EPO; in providing opinions regarding validity of intellectual property rights, freedom-to-operate, and litigation; she has been appointed as an expert before the Belgian court in “Saisie Descriptive” proceedings. She has been involved in patent searching, valorization of inventions, selection of inventions, decisions on publication and patenting, patent portfolio analysis, including decisions on abandonment of patents. Furthermore, she has given general and legal advice in IP.

In 2009 Kris founded DenK iP bvba together with Davy Wauters from Wauters Intellectual Property bvba.
